Healthy Gourmet FAQ

Are Healthy Gourmet meals diet food?

Not necessarily! Our meals are optimized to maximize the nutrition and calories for a complete prepared meal. Our chef-created recipes use all-natural ingredients that just so happen to fit into many diets such as gluten-free, low-cal, paleo, and even vegan. Check the icons next to each meal that match up with your own lifestyle.

When do I get my meals?

Order by 6 a.m. on Tuesday and get your meal that Thursday. We prepare our meals Tuesdays and Wednesdays and ship every Thursday.

If I'm not at home when my meals arrive, will they go bad?

Our meals are packed with ice packs that will keep your meals refridgerated and safe for at least 12 hours. The icepacks are reusable too! Stick them in the freezer and use them again.

How long do the meals last?

healthy Gourmet meals are good for 10 days after they arrive at your door. You can freeze them to keep them longer, just keep track of timing when you do.

How long does it take to enjoy Healthy Gourmet meals?

Heat Healthy Gourmet prepared meals in the microwave for 2 minutes (watch the packaging vent if you want, its pretty neat), let cool for 1 minute (we know it's hard to wait), and enjoy! Watch out for steam when removing from the microwave.

Where is the Healthy Gourmet kitchen located?

Healthy Gourmet is located in Houston, TX. We cook and package everything in-house. We source ingredients, prep meals, cook meals, package meals and ship directly to your door from our homebase.

Do I have to subscribe to a meal plan? Is there a minimum $ purchase required to order?

No! We don't like the limiting subscription plans we've tried, so we avoid them altogether. We don't require a minimum purchase amount, but you will get free shipping if you order over $100 worth of meals.

Recycling Healthy Gourmet Meal Delivery Packages

Can I recycle my Healthy Gourmet ice packs? Can the Healthy Gourmet delivery packaging be recycled? We get these questions a lot, so we've got the answers below:

While we encourage you to stick your ice packs in the freezer for reuse, we realize that soon becomes a space issue. Luckily, our ice packs are recyclable! The cooling agent is made of a plant-based pulp and water (and non-toxic), so it is ok to cut open the ice packs and dump the contents into the sink or trash, then recycle the plastic bag.

The cardboard delivery box itself is recyclable, and the liner contents are made of recycled denim, also recyclable.

The Healthy Gourmet sticky labels (plant-based) and meal trays (also plant-based) are recyclable as well, and are BPA-free.

We've made an effort to be ecologically responsible from the get-go, and are always looking for ways to do things better.

Thanks for doing your part!
